If you're struggling, you're not alone.

What you go through during pregnancy, postpartum, and the early years of parenting is like no other stage in life. Sometimes it’s completely shocking.

Before becoming a parent, you see this picture-perfect version of parenthood portrayed all over the internet from massive marketing campaigns all the way down to your best friend’s social media feed. Everyone makes it seem so natural, easy, and fulfilling.

But then when you actually go through it yourself, reality smacks you in the face, and you’re left confused and isolated: Why doesn’t it look that way for me? Why am I struggling?

At least 1/5 moms and 1/10 dads experience postpartum depression or anxiety.

Parents struggle the most when they have no support.

We specialize where mental health and parenthood overlap

You won’t have to wonder if your therapist actually gets what you’re going through. We're trained for this.

Our team has advanced education and experience in perinatal mental health, meaning you don't have to cross your fingers and hope that we understand how hard this stage can be.

We understand the nuances of the early stages of parenthood: how typical counselling strategies may not be relevant to parents with young kids, and how mental health challenges look different during this time.

From deciding to have children, to navigating your journey through fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, relationship changes, parenting, career demands and beyond, parenthood can be full of challenges.

Our goal is to help you manage the peaks and valleys of the entire journey, while staying connected to yourself, and feeling whole, along the way.

About us:

The Perinatal Collective was born from recognizing how the challenges that arise in the perinatal period are unique and require therapists who specialize in this area.

We're here to close the gap of perinatal mental healthcare and ensure that parents are getting the nuanced support they deserve. All sessions are virtual, no referral is needed.

OWNERS HAVE BEEN FEATURED IN:

what clients say about our therapists

— past client

She challenges me in the most meaningful ways and is able to validate my feelings without judgement. She is kind, compassionate, relatable, and has a wealth of knowledge and resources she has shared with me in building my tool kit. I am so grateful to have found her!

"She's the best therapist I have ever worked with."

[My therapist] is outstanding! Her holistic understanding of client wellbeing and how to nurture and gently nudge towards reaching our full potential all while holding a strength based image of her clients is truly one in a million.

"One in a million."

It is so rare to find a therapist like her who truly gets the mom experience. I actually stopped seeing my psychologist because I made more progress with [my therapist]. I trust her wholeheartedly and deeply respect the many gifts she holds as a helper and human!

"I trust her wholeheartedly."

[My therapist] is approachable and relatable. She really pays attention to your journey, history, and present relations, tying them all together and bringing them in with a gentle, but realistic approach. She has helped me immensely, and I would not be as far as I am connecting to myself, my inner child, and my current children and family without her.

"Approachable and relatable."

She is so supportive, thoughtful, insightful and is able to connect with me. I so appreciate her and how she asks the right questions to help me release emotions that I didn't know I was pushing down, and questions to help me think a different way. So very fortunate to be working with her.

"Supportive, thoughtful, insightful."
